A symposium for young doctoral talents was held on Aug 26 in Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province, where nearly 100 talents from universities and research institutions across the country engaged in in-depth discussions with representatives of Taiyuan's government departments.

Representatives from the CPC Taiyuan municipal committee’s organization department introduced the city's regional characteristics, development plans, and latest talent support policies. In the keynote session, six doctors shared insights on urban innovation and industrial upgrading based on their professional expertise and practical experiences.

Doctoral candidate Shi Xiaoxiao, the on-campus director of Taiyuan's "Scholars Returning Home" workstation at China Agricultural University (CAU), highlighted the program's achievements: "So far, it has attracted over 400 Shanxi-native students through various initiatives, and in the past two years, facilitated the return of more than 10 CAU graduates to Shanxi."

Wu Qianxiang, a graduate from Tongji University's School of Civil Engineering and now a faculty member at Shanxi University's School of Power and Architecture, shared his firsthand experiences: "After returning, talent policies and subsidies were promptly fulfilled, which reflects the city's sincerity. Additionally, the abundant research resources here offer great potential for academic and social value."

In the discussion session, participants raised questions about Taiyuan's industrial development, research collaborations, and talent ecosystems, with officials providing detailed and practical responses.
