The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) recently released the list of excellent intelligent factories for 2025, with a total of 274 projects selected nationwide. Among them, three are located in Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province.

The three enterprises from Taiyuan that made the list are: Shanxi Taigang Stainless Steel Co's "full-process closed-loop control stainless steel cold rolling intelligent factory"; Shanxi Yangmei Chemical Machinery (Group) Co's "large-scale coal chemical equipment full value chain intelligent collaborative intelligent factory"; and Taiyuan Heavy Industry Railway Transportation Equipment Co's "high-speed wheel and axle full-process manufacturing intelligent factory."

The national intelligent factory gradient cultivation is promoted by the MIIT and five other ministries and commissions, and is divided into four levels: basic, advanced, excellent, and leading, aiming to promote the digital transformation and intelligent upgrading of the manufacturing industry.

Being designated as a national excellent intelligent factory means that the enterprise has reached an industry-leading level in intelligent manufacturing and has achieved very strong results in areas such as artificial intelligence application, system integration, and value creation.
