The main event of the 2025 Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival in Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province, was held at Daotian Park on Sept 23.
In the more than 100-meter-long exhibition and sales area, 77 brand enterprises from 11 cities across the province offered more than 300 agricultural and cultural and creative products.
In front of the Shanxi Jinci Rice Group booth, "Jindao No 17" and "Daohuaxiang No 2" received much attention. "After the Nanlao Spring was restored, the quality of the rice has improved," said Guo Zhiwen, the head of the group, as he held up a handful of crystal-clear grains of rice to introduce to customers. "These two varieties have been continuously optimized, the rice is of good quality, chewy, and still has the taste in the memory."
The nearby Kangpei Daotian Park booth displayed creative products made from rice, such as rice soap and hair accessories, which many visitors found novel and interesting. Rice wine with roselle, osmanthus and other flavors was fragrant and attracted many people eager to taste it.
In front of the Chuanxian Yuxian Farm booth, specialty vegetables such as cream cucumbers and baby pumpkins were very popular. Liu Yuan, the person in charge, said, "Our vegetables are picked in the early morning and can be delivered to your home at noon."
"In addition to vegetables, the farm also raises Atlantic salmon and South American white shrimp, which are both Taiyuan-produced seafoods and are delivered fresh," Liu added.
