According to online travel agency Ctrip, hotel bookings in Taiyuan increased by 10 percent year-on-year, four percentage points higher than the national average, during the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, with most visitors coming from Beijing, Xi'an, Shanghai, Tianjin, and Shijiazhuang.

"High-speed rail + ticket" combination orders accounted for 52 percent of all bookings on Ctrip, representing a year-over-year increase of 10 percent. Beijing, Xi'an, Shanghai, Tianjin, and Shijiazhuang together accounted for 60 percent of incoming passengers in Shanxi, with tourists from Beijing making up 23 percent.

Taiyuan's scenic spots, such as the Jinci Museum, Shanxi Museum, and Taiyuan Ancient County Town, gained popularity, with search interest in the "Jinyang Lake Large-Scale Water Show" increasing by 200 percent compared to before the holiday.

Out-of-town tourists stayed in Taiyuan for an average of 1.9 nights, a 0.4-night increase year-over-year. The growth rate of high-star-rated hotel bookings in Taiyuan reached 16 percent, eight percent higher than that of low-star hotels, indicating that cultural vacations are driving consumer spending.

During the holiday, inbound tourism bookings in Shanxi rose by 100 percent compared to the previous year. The top five source countries for tourists were South Korea, Malaysia, the United States, Japan, and Germany. South Korean visitors made up 27 percent of all inbound tourists, making them the largest group. US and German tourists had longer stays, averaging 3.1 nights, and had higher consumption levels. The Yungang Grottoes, Pingyao Ancient City, Wutai Mountain, Hukou Waterfall, and Jinci Temple were the five most popular scenic spots for foreign tourists.
