The 15th China Esperanto Congress of China opened in Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province, on Nov 1.

Yu Tao, deputy director of the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration, expressed his hope that the All-China Esperanto League would build on this conference to drive further progress in the Esperanto movement, contribute to strengthening China's global voice, and help build a shared future for humanity.

Liu Dawei, president of the All-China Esperanto League, highlighted the importance of strengthening Chinese identity within the Esperanto community, establishing a solid foundation for Chinese Esperanto teaching and research, nurturing talented individuals to support the Esperanto movement, and promoting innovation to unlock new potential for Esperanto's development.

In a video address, Universal Esperanto Association President Fernando Maia praised the congress' theme as both inspiring and aligned with the goals of the Esperanto movement and the UEA's strategic plan (AKIRI). He also congratulated the All-China Esperanto League on its recent accomplishments.

Held biennially, the China Esperanto Congress is the nation's premier event for the Esperanto community. It serves as a dynamic platform that encourages connection, learning, discussion, and cultural exchange to advance the language's development in the modern era.
