Datong launches Tashkent freight train
Datong is making significant advancements in international logistics as part of its efforts to deepen integration with the Belt and Road Initiative.
Following the launch of the "Datong-Moscow" freight train in 2024, the city inaugurated its "Datong-Tashkent" route this May, further expanding its international logistics network.
This new freight service transports complete sets of auto parts from Great Wall Motors, valued at approximately 12.47 million yuan ($1.73 million), passing through the Khorgos Port, destined for Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.
To ensure smooth operations, Huayuan International Land Port (Datong) Group Co has developed a transportation plan tailored to customer needs, optimizing every aspect from cargo and customs coordination to route planning.
Since the inception of its freight train services in 2024, Huayuan has operated eight China-Europe trains, increasing the import and export value of Datong Land Port's bonded logistics center by 130 million yuan. This expansion has provided stable and efficient logistics support for enterprises aiming to enter Central Asian and European markets.
The "Datong-Kashgar" China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan rail-road intermodal service is also set to launch in June. This initiative will pave the way for a coordinated network of Central Asia, China-Europe, and southbound corridors, reinforcing Datong's ambition to become a new hub of inland openness.
