Datong celebrates its first daylily culinary festival

Datong hosted its first Daylily Culinary Festival on June 30, celebrating the second anniversary of the city's esteemed designation as a "City of Gastronomy" and promoting the preservation and innovation of local culinary traditions.
A centerpiece of the event was the fifth "Craftsman Cup" Skills Competition, which spotlighted innovative daylily cuisine. Top chefs from 30 local restaurants showcased their culinary prowess, crafting over 300 stunning dishes with daylilies as the main or supplementary ingredient.
The festival also exhibited renowned products from leading culinary enterprises, drawing significant attention and participation.

Among the festival's key events was the "City of Gastronomy – Datong Development Summit Forum", where industry experts delivered insightful keynote speeches. They engaged in thorough discussions on brand building and cultural dissemination, providing valuable guidance for Datong's ongoing development as a "City of Gastronomy".
The head of the Datong Catering and Hotel Industry Association said that authorities are committed to deepening research into culinary culture, advancing industry transformation and upgrading, enhancing standard system construction, and nurturing a professional talent pool to elevate Datong's gastronomic reputation.
