Australian blogger Angela Han recently embarked on an immersive journey to Datong, eager to share the city's charm with a global audience. Accompanied by her friend Indie Sheppard, Angela explored the rich cultural and historical tapestry of this ancient city.

Although born and raised in Australia, Angela has a deep familial connection to Datong through her father. With over 70,000 followers on her blog, Angela was excited to introduce Indie to the unique allure of her ancestral home.

"I make it a point to visit Datong every Chinese New Year to reunite with my grandmother and relatives," Angela said, her eyes filled with warmth. "The delicious local noodles and snacks are unforgettable, the ancient architecture radiates timeless charm, and the hospitality of the locals always makes me feel at home. I hope to inspire more of my overseas friends to fall in love with Datong."

For Indie Sheppard, who was visiting China for the first time, Datong's historical richness was truly captivating. She marveled at the intricate sculptures of the Yungang Grottoes and the imposing ancient city walls, each site narrating a story steeped in history and culture.

Both Angela and Indie are students at the University of Technology Sydney, taking advantage of their winter break to embark on this Chinese adventure. After exploring Shanghai and Beijing, they plan to continue their journey to Hainan province, eager to discover more of China's breathtaking landscapes.
