Wangzhuangbu town in Hunyuan county, Datong, now sparkles like a radiant gem, utilizing its rich history and natural resources to cultivate rural tourism.

Founded in 1540 during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), the town, often hailed as a "living museum", is home to historical and cultural treasures such as Neolithic sites, the Tea Path, the Great Wall, and the Hongmen Temple.

At the heart of the town lies the Tangtou Hot Spring, a prized resource dating back to the Eastern Han Dynasty (25-220). Evolving into a sought-after destination blending tourism, leisure, rejuvenation, and bathing, it attracts numerous visitors.

Lianhua Mountain stands as another gem of Wangzhuangbu, offering breathtaking landscapes and verdant foliage, ideal for hiking and sightseeing. The introduction of charming homestays and the ongoing development of a camping site that integrate gliding, parachuting, mountain climbing, and jungle exploration add to the town's allure.

Emphasizing the cultivation of specialty agricultural products such as millet, the town is diversifying its economic landscape. Using its abundant water resources, it is also nurturing recreational fisheries. The fish farm in Xihui village houses over 30,000 fish, yielding more than 100,000 catties annually.

With a total production of 200,000 tails and an annual consumption of 30,000, this initiative generates more than 300,000 yuan ($41,802) in revenue, bolstering local incomes.

"We are committed to creating unique tourism experiences, elevating service standards, driving rural tourism, and contributing to the vitalization of our community," said Zheng Wenjing, deputy head of of town.
