Datong has introduced a new nighttime tour experience featuring a bustling fair that blends cultural heritage with modern leisure activities.

The fair showcases a variety of local cultural creations, including crafts inspired by the Yungang Grottoes, Northern Wei Dynasty (386-534)-themed accessories, and souvenirs depicting ancient city landmarks.

Traditional crafts such as Datong leather carving, ancient architecture rubbings, and volcanic rock carvings further enrich the selection.

One of the event's highlights is the outdoor screenings, which begin at 8:00 pm each night except Mondays. These screenings are grouped into five themed weeks, featuring special interactive sessions on Saturdays. During these sessions, renowned film creators share behind-the-scenes stories, accompanied by artistic performances.

Visitors can enjoy the screenings in two ways: by reserving a spot online with a refundable 9.9 yuan ($1.46) deposit, limited to 150 seats per session, which includes a commemorative ticket and film stamp, or by attending without any reservation or deposit for a more spontaneous experience.
