(a) Geographical advantage:
In Guxian county, the National Highway 341 runs north-south, the Licheng-Huozhou Expressway runs east-west and Watang-Rizhao Railway, Changzhi-Linfen Expressway, National Highway 309, and Macheng-Tangji Line intersect, forming a convenient transportation network. It takes just 40 minutes to reach the airport and 50 minutes to reach the high-speed railway station, greatly enhancing travel efficiency.
(b) Resource advantage:
Guxian is a typical coal and coke resource county with abundant coal resources. Premium coking coal is one of its most valuable coal types, and the coal resources are mainly from the Qinshui Coalfield's Huoshan Mountain East Area. The coal-bearing area spans 680 square kilometers, with a total reserve of 4.9 billion metric tons. Guxian is one of the key coalbed methane areas in Shanxi, with reserves of 20 billion cubic meters. Four areas have been identified, including Yongle North, Yongle, Yongle South, and Guxian South. The exploration rights for the four coalbed methane areas have been granted to Shanxi Qiantong New Energy Development Group Co, Shanxi Anxin Coal Industry Co, and Shanxi Lanyan Coalbed Methane Group Co.
(c) Industrial advantage:
The coalbed methane development and utilization project will significantly reduce atmospheric pollution caused by methane emissions from coal mining. Additionally, using coalbed methane for power generation helps mitigate pollution from coal-fired power generation. Once the project's various stages are completed, it will not only meet the gas and centralized heating needs of Guxian county's urban households but also produce CNG, LNG, and some industrial gases, having a strong positive impact on the availability of gas in Shanxi and the beautification of Guxian county.

Guxian has a well-developed road network, close to major transportation routes like the Changzhi-Linfen Expressway and National Highway 309, facilitating the transportation of raw materials and products.

Guxian has well-developed infrastructure, with convenient transportation and communication conditions, making it an ideal location for developing and constructing this project.
3. Benefit analysis
Guxian consumes 50 million cu m of coalbed methane per year, producing 40 million cu m of CNG or LNG, equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 1.56 million tons. It generates annual sales revenue of 120 million yuan ($16.85 million).
