Gaoping’s sixth village basketball match kicked off on April 6 in Linfen city’s Xiangfen county, featuring over 40 competing enthusiasts across two local teams and two visiting teams.

Before the game began, villagers had already gathered around the court. Players showcased smooth dribbling, passing, and shooting, with intense offense and defense throughout. Every play elicited cheers and applause from the audience.

Gaoping has a long-standing tradition of hosting basketball tournaments, evolving from informal gatherings to planned events, with the sport’s growing influence turning it into Gaoping's unique cultural and sports symbol. The village has also upgraded its basketball court, transforming it into a standard sports venue.
