Linfen city held a video conference with General Villegas city in Argentina on April 21. Wang Yanfeng, mayor of Linfen, and Franco Ariel Fresas, mayor of General Villegas, attended the meeting.
Wang provided an overview of Linfen's economic development, reflecting on the progress made in collaboration since the two cities signed the Letter of Intent for Sister City Relations in September 2024. He noted Linfen's rapid growth in green energy, technological innovation, and smart city initiatives, expressing hope for practical cooperation in areas such as culture and tourism, education, technology, green energy, and smart cities. He also extended an invitation for his counterpart to visit Linfen again.
Fresas shared insights into General Villegas's development and industrial strengths, highlighting its advanced technologies in solar energy development and smart city lighting. He emphasized that these align well with Linfen's focus on green and low-carbon development, and expressed willingness to expand cooperation into new fields.
Representatives from Shanxi University of Electronic Science and Technology, Linfen Economic Development Zone, Northwest National University of Buenos Aires, and relevant Argentine institutions engaged in discussions on topics such as academic exchange, new energy development, and smart city lighting.
