The new-generation EVO+ICL (V5) vision correction technology made its debut at Linfen Aier Eye Hospital on July 26, establishing the EVO+ICL (V5) Clinical Application Cooperation Center. The hospital became the first compliant institution in the region to implement this advanced optical lens.

Doctor Chen Peng, deputy chief of Shanxi Aier Eye Hospital and a renowned refractive surgery specialist, performed the first local surgery using this technology, completing the entire procedure in less than 10 minutes, with the core lens implantation step taking just one minute.

The hospital previously provided laser correction procedures like small incision lenticule extraction (SMILE) and laser epithelial keratomileusis (LASEK). Now it also covers both primary vision correction options – laser and intraocular lens – thanks to the new V5 lens.

The EVO+ICL (V5) lens features a 6.1mm large optical zone and enhanced precision, refined from 50 to 25 diopters for sharper correction. It reduces nighttime glare and halos, requires no corneal tissue removal, and can be removed later if necessary. This makes it suitable for individuals with severe myopia, thin corneas, or those ineligible for laser surgery.
