The opening ceremony for the second group of the Macao youth study tour to Shanxi and Henan, themed "Tracing roots along the mother river," was held in Hongdong county.

During the tour, participants get to visit the Hongtong Dahuaishu Ancestor Memorial Garden, Huoquan Spring, Guangsheng Temple, and the Hukou Waterfall on the Yellow River in Jixian county. The program aims to help them explore their ancestral roots, appreciate the river's cultural significance, and learn about ecological conservation and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin.

Linfen has stepped up its exchanges with young people from Hong Kong and Macao in recent years, using Yellow River culture and ancestral heritage to foster connections.

The city plans to expand such programs and encourage more young people from the two special administrative regions to discover the mainland's history and development.
