Yangquan: A symphony of ecology and economic vitality

Updated: 2025-05-06

In spring, azure skies and fluffy white clouds reflect off the Taohe River running through Yangquan, amplifying the city's natural allure. This 9-kilometer stretch, adorned with 16,000 blooming peach trees, set a picturesque stage for the 2025 Yangquan Taohe Market, which began on April 7.

Once a simple leisure spot, Taohe River Park has evolved into a vibrant hub of activity. The market capitalizes on the blossoms’ enchanting beauty, offering diverse cultural performances, art exhibitions, traditional fashion shows, book clubs, and product displays.

Visitors can revel in the beauty of the peach blossoms while enjoying a lively shopping experience. The market showcases selenium-rich agricultural products, with 20 enterprises presenting over 140 specialty items, including millet, eggs, and honey.

The exhibitions also offer many products, from home appliances to housing and automobiles, catering to the community's diverse needs.

The park's transformation began in 2022 with the planting of over 10,000 ornamental peach trees covering 22 varieties and 100,000 tulips covering 36 varieties along the riverbanks. These efforts and infrastructure enhancements have significantly elevated the park's ecological, cultural, and economic stature.
