Yangquan shines with ecological restoration initiatives
As early summer arrives, Yangquan transforms into a vibrant tapestry of lush greens and colorful blossoms, a testament to the city's unwavering commitment to ecological restoration.
This transformation is the result of comprehensive planning and the dedicated implementation of various restoration projects.
Yangquan has crafted a detailed ecological plan to conduct precise assessments, identify and address ecological issues, and designate restoration units. This strategic plan emphasizes coordinated efforts to restore and protect key areas, including two rivers, four mountains, and one spring region.
Significant progress has been made in revitalizing former mining sites across the city. In Maju village, Yuxian county, an abandoned mining area has been transformed into a thriving landscape filled with blooming wildflowers and verdant trees.
The city is also advancing projects aimed at land recovery from coal and mining activities, restoring exposed hillsides along high-speed railways and highways, and comprehensively managing subsidence areas.
In Xichengwu village, Yuxian county, a former quarry has been rejuvenated through ecological restoration efforts along transportation routes. This area now boasts green trees, hiking trails, and a mountain park, offering a renewed natural space for residents and visitors.
