Yangquan half marathon attracts 6,000 runners

The 2025 Yangquan Niangziguan Half Marathon began on May 25, attracting 6,000 runners from across the country to its historic course.
The event featured two categories: the Half Marathon and the Health Run, which included a Family Run segment.
After more than an hour of intense competition, Chen Xin emerged victorious in the men's half marathon with a time of 1 hr 9 min and 53 sec. In the women's category, Kang Meiru clinched the championship with a time of 1 hr 18 min and 50 sec.

Following the Health Run, a vibrant carnival at Pingmei Square drew numerous participants with its specialty products and local delicacies. The event showcased a diverse array of items, including sand pottery, purple clay, and Forsythia tea. Attendees used vouchers provided by the organizers for on-site purchases, with discounts reaching up to 50 percent.
From May 24 to 26, participants enjoyed complimentary access to several scenic spots, including Niangziguan Pass and the Guguan section of the Great Wall.
The Yangquan Marathon aims to continue offering high-quality event services and establish an excellent platform for public fitness. By amplifying the impact of sports events, it seeks to contribute to the city's economic and social development.
