Updated: 2025-06-27

Nearly 20 selenium-rich products from Yangquan, Shanxi province, were showcased at the third Rural Characteristic and Advantageous Industry Development Conference in Beijing from June 21 to 23.

The city's offerings, including millet, forsythia tea, and eggs, garnered significant attention from attendees.

The conference provided over 520 complimentary booths for participating enterprises, attracting 1,021 companies and featuring more than 2,500 products. It also included three forums on financial, technological, and consumer support, along with seven industry-specific forums focusing on sectors such as oil tea, walnuts, and olive oil.

The event aimed to create a platform for exchange, discussion, and display, fostering the development of rural specialty industries in an effort to benefit agriculture, enterprises, and public health.

Yangquan plans to utilize trade fairs and expos to boost the visibility of its selenium products. The goal is to expand the value chain of the city's selenium-rich industry, establishing it as a new highlight of specialty and premium agriculture and a channel for increasing farmers' incomes.
