In mountainous Yangquan, the landscape is alive with rotating wind turbines and gleaming solar panels, while underground, intelligent coal mining and advanced material production are reshaping the energy landscape.

In the first half of the year, Yangquan achieved a remarkable milestone with new and renewable energy generation reaching 2.63 billion kilowatt-hours, an impressive 18.97 percent increase compared to the previous year. The city's installed capacity for new and renewable energy reached 3.20 million KW, making up 34.91 percent of the city's total power capacity.

Yangquan's coal power industry is undergoing a transformative shift towards smart and green development, with the city having made significant progress in constructing intelligent coal mines, with 14 already operational.

Utilizing its abundant high-quality limestone resources and strong industrial foundations, Yangquan is setting its sights on establishing a calcium-based new materials industry base and plans to implement green mining projects focused on the development of active lime.

The city is also expanding the production of high-end products, including high specific surface area calcium hydroxide and nano calcium carbonate, to enhance and modernize its industrial chain.
